Robert Grossman, Ph.D. (OCC Founder and Director) is the Chief Research Informatics Officer (CRIO), the Director of the Center for Data Intensive Science and a Professor in the Division of Biological Sciences at the University of Chicago. He is also a Core Faculty and Senior Fellow at the Institute for Genomics and Systems Biology (IGSB) and the Computation Institute. Dr. Grossman’s research group focuses on big data, data science, bioinformatics, cloud computing and related areas. Dr. Grossman is also the Founder and Chief Data Scientist of Open Data Group. Open Data Group has provided analytic services so that companies can build predictive models over big data since 2002.
Lea Salvatore, M.P.H. (Director of Operations) is supporting the development, maintenance, and governance of various CCSR projects. She is also using development strategies to increase CCSR’s organizational capacity and partner relationships. Lea has over a decade of experience consulting with various non-profits to build capacity, sustainability and social impact. She hopes to accelerate the progress of solving the multifaceted issues and disparities that lead to much of the world’s health problems.
Lea received her undergraduate degree in Biological Anthropology from University of California, Santa Barbara. She also holds an MPH in Global Public Health Leadership from the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine.
